The accession consists of the laboratory log kept by Dr. Arrhenius during the Swedish Deep-Sea Expedition of 1947-1948. The log records Dr. Arrhenius observations at the dissection and sampling of sediment cores from the Eastern Equatorial Pacific collected by the Swedish Deep-Sea Expedition in the fall of 1947 (Galapagos to 16°N, 124°W, to the Marquesas Islands).
